Grand Opening of Sensory Trail, Natural Play Area, and Pavilion at Glover Park
Join us on August 25th from 12-3pm for the engaging and interactive community event, family friendly, open to everyone and FREE.
We will be hosting several artists and performers to help us celebrate the new public space for all people. Come experience the dozen sensory stations, timber frame pavilion, and timber frame covered bridge along the new wheelchair accessible trail.
Starting at noon, we will be creating a community mural inside the pavilion led by muralist Tara Goreau.
At 1pm we will have presentation on kinetic forest art mobiles and cairn building by Eric Petit.
At 2pm we will feature an interactive jazz performance with Cello, Steelpan & Saxophone improvisations by Michael Close, Emily Lanxner & Ras Moshe Burnett where the audience will be encouraged to create nature-based Haiku poetry and the poems will be picked at random by the musicians as the basis for improvisation.
Also, bring your bikes and ride the amazing pump track built by IdeRide.
Check out the joinery and the woodworking details of the timber frame pavilion and timber frame covered bridge built by Green Timber Works.
